EXCLUSIVE: Gentleman Reg's 'Waiting Around for Gold'

Gentlemanreg-collage-cr_0

The first music video to be released from the new album, 'Leisure Life'

Ready for your latest synth-heavy breakup song, boys? Toronto singer-songwriter Gentleman Reg was been a former member of The Hidden Cameras, and has toured with Owen Pallett, Diamond Rings, A Camp, and performs in electro-rock duo Light Fires. His latest LP, Leisure Life, features "Waiting Around For Gold."

The video, directed by Jeff Scheven (TV On The Radio, Death From Above), features a monk-like Reg Vermue (a.k.a. Gentleman Reg) in ghostly makeup singing the refrain: "When they ask me what I'm doing/ I say I'm waiting around for gold." A golden boy? The perfect boyfriend? Seems as such, what with the naked male torso in gold body paint also spliced in. It's a danceable track with plenty of hooks for repeat listening. And even if you're not heartsick, or waiting around for gold, you'll enjoy the catchy tune.

Leisure Life is the fifth full-length from Gentleman Reg. Watch the video below:
