Playwright prepares to channel Kate in a staged reading
Charles Busch loves a star.
When we caught up with the infamous playwright following our Nov. 17 Out 100 gala, Busch was smitten with one celebrity in particular: Adam Lambert.
"I met the peerless Adam. That was my whole goal of the evening," Busch said. "It's easy for me to sit back and complain that there's no one to replace all the greats, the stars that have passed. But when I saw Adam Lambert, I was so excited about it. He's openly gay and sexy. It's outrageous!"
Lambert's not the only celebrity who gets under Busch's skin. He's also rather fond of Katharine Hepburn.
Tonight he'll be performing as the late, great icon in a staged reading of Matthew Lombardo's one, uh, woman show, Tea at Five, as part of a fundraiser for the Ali Forney Center.
If you're not yet sold, check out the rest of our interview with Busch.
