This week, Anderson Cooper invited James Clementi for an interview with Jason Carroll on his CNN show "Anderson Cooper 360" after reading his "Letters to My Brother," which are published in the March issue of Out.
As Clementi says in the interview about being his brother Tyler's older, gay brother:
"I didn't want to push him," James said. "I actually brought it up to him that I was gay, kind of hoping that he would reciprocate and tell me the same thing about himself. ... I just wanted him to know so that it would be a safe place and that if he did want to talk to me, he would be able to."
Cooper also lost his brother to suicide, which he has spoken about publicly.
