'Weeds' Actor Talks Getting Naked, Acting Like a Thug

Openly-gay actor Guillermo Diaz says he likes to play dark, sexy characters

Confession: Every time I saw Guillermo Diaz on Weeds as cocky drug trafficker Guillermo Gomez, I wanted to marry him. I didn't even care that Gomez was pervy and arrogant and probably evil, because all I could ever think about was how undeniably charming he was. I mean, let's be real: If I ever met Gomez in real life, he'd probably dropkick me and run off with my wallet without so much as a kiss on the cheek, but whatevs.

In any case, Diaz's recent interview with The Advocate has shed some light upon why Diaz gravitates towards thuggish roles like his role on Weeds.

"Dark, fucked-up characters have so much more going on than the hot guys," he tells the magazine. "That whole sex symbol thing, it's hard for me to connect to that and the pressure of having to live up to that."

That hasn't stopped Diaz from getting sexy for Pinups, a gay magazine which features monthly spreads of dudes hanging out in the buff. (Diaz posed for the June 2010 edition of the magazine. You can see the NSFW pics here.)

"It's on Manhunt, and there's this thing that says, 'Would you fuck him or not?' " he says. "And then it's all these people talking about me and how I'm fat or ugly. I mean, there's good stuff too, but the whole point of why I did the magazine is people acting that way."

Diaz's next role is also dark: He portrays the mysterious Huck on the new series Scandal (A.K.A.Shonda Rhimes' most recent attempt at taking over ABC.)

If you're in the same boat as me, though, and you really just want to marry him, then you're destined for disappointment: He has a boyfriend, Mike, who he's been dating for seven years. Bummer!
