After an early leak, the internet is abuzz about the chosen queens
This past Sunday some mysteriously leaked promotional photos and video seemed to reveal the 12 drag queens chosen to be the cast of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, which will start this October.
The leak arrived one day ahead of schedule, as the official announcement was set to take place during the season finale of RuPaul's Drag U.
A testament to the popularity of the show, Drag Race has been the subject of leaks, such as the reveal of Raja's third season victory that arrived three weeks before the finale. Nonetheless, there was not much of a response from Logo, who proceeded with normal on Monday and revealed that the All Star contestants were indeed those which were leaked.
Here's the cast, listed alphabetically by season:
Season 1
Nina Flowers, Tammie Brown, Shanell
Season 2
Jujubee, Pandora Boxx, Raven
Season 3
Alexis Mateo, Manila Luzon, Mimi Imfurst, Yara Sofia
Season 4
Chad Michaels, Latrice Royale

The blogs noted some missing favorite cast members, such as Willam (after his rule-breaking and removal from the show, it's unsurprising that he wasn't included) and Morgan McMichaels, who should have been placed instead of Mimi Imfurst according to some. Since the voting system was totally fan-based, the fact that Mimi was chosen proves her ability to rouse her online fanbase to vote, yet another skill that queens have to have in addition to applying the perfect beat or having Janet Jackson's discography memorized.
There are some other queens could have done well to return in her stead -- I would have preferred to see Delta Work -- and fans most notably pointed out the absense of last year's winner, Sharon Needles, but none of the winners have actually been placed on the show, perhaps on purpose. Ms. Needles is the only one who made a video explaining herself: "Can't a ghoul enjoy her victory for one calendar year before being forced back into the competition?" she asks.
In the end, we're totally excited for what will clearly be some amazing television. Who ever thought that the gays would be anxious for fall to begin?
