The most talked about election this year will be the New York City mayoral race. It has sex. It has scandal. It has the glitz, glamor, and grit of the Big Apple. And now it has Tim Gunn, who today released a 2:13 minute video explaining why he's endorsing Christine Quinn, a candidate who could become the first female and first openly gay leader of the city.
"It's about leadership," Gunn says in the video, in which he specifically praises Quinn's efforts to help the middle class -- "Chris doesn't want the city to become a luxury brand." -- and her education policies. Gunn was, after all, an educator before he became the Project Runway titan we know today. Speaking of fashion, Gunn also lauds Quinn for her support of the fashion community, and he predicts that she's the candidate best suited to save space for young sartorial entrepreneurs. Quinn "will help us move the needle forward."
Oh, and he thinks it's "simply fabulous" that Quinn is a lesbian.
