EastSiders garnered critical acclaim, plenty of fanboys, and a spot on LogoTV.com when it premiered last year. The story -- relatable, fresh, darkly funny-- followed a Los Angeles gay couple struggling to stay together in the aftermath of infidelity.
The first season met its Kickstarter goal in just four days, and now creator Kit Williamson has returned to the crowd-funding site with a $125,000 goal.
"I'm so excited to take the show back where it started: in the fans' hands, on Kickstarter," said Williamson. "This is a very unique moment in time where audiences have the power to say what kind of stories they want to see told."
The budget might be a big hike from the 25K raised for the first season, but Williamson wants season two to look just as good streamed to your computer as that other queer-friendly show you might be watching.
And, well, EastSiders is worth it.
"We've been so lucky to have found an amazing community of viewers that have been with us from day one, and continues to grow every day. I hope they want to see more from us, because I am so excited to continue telling this story."
The season one finale left Cal (Van Hansis) and Thom (Kit Williamson himself!) unsure of their future. They'd finally come clean, but still, the feelings for one another were there -- fragmented, yes, but somehow glued together. Is being in love enough of a reason to be together?
Cal and Thom are the new Rachel and Ross, and we're all about epic couples.
