Jim Parsons & Rihanna: Interstellar Pals?

While I don't think I could ever imagine Jim Parsons and Rihanna as pals IRL, they will be interstellar companions once Dreamworks has its way with them. In the new trailer for the animated feature, due out March 2015, Parsons is a sad-sack alien who stumbles into a young human girl's life.

Here's the official synopsis:

When Earth is taken over by the overly-confident Boov, an alien race in search of a new place to call home, all humans are promptly relocated, while all Boov get busy reorganizing the planet. But when one resourceful girl, Tip, (Rihanna, who also contributes a song) manages to avoid capture, she finds herself the accidental accomplice of a banished Boov named Oh (Jim Parsons). The two fugitives realize there's a lot more at stake than intergalactic relations as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime.

I don't think I've ever actually heard Rihanna's voice (not Auto-Tuned I mean), since she's been such a pop cypher all these years. And now she's a young Latina gal. Who knew?
