Watch the exclusive debut of the Aussie synth-pop duo's new music video

Hailing from Sydney, Australia, We Are the Brave is anything but typical. The '80s-influenced synth-pop duo, comprised of Jess Chalker and Nathan Cunial, blends together Bat for Lashes, Bonnie Tyler, MS MR and Tears for Fears to create a unique sound that is immediately addictive. Since the release of their remix EP for the song "Sparrow," the group has been building buzz on the Internet.

On "Your Ghost," their haunting new single mastered by sound engineer William Bowden -- the same guy behind Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" -- the group slows things down to create a synth-heavy dreamscape. Their new video, premiering exclusively on Out.com, is somewhere between Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and The Crow. Watch as the group explores demons in beautiful scenes filmed throughout Sydney and even in some Aussie cotton fields in Griffith, a town practically in the middle of nowhere.

"We were adamant we wanted to shoot Tom [a Sydney performer] dancing out there, in the cotton fields, because the images would potentially be so stunning and beautiful, particularly at sunset, which was when we planned to film," Chalker says of the video shoot. "But on the drive up, about four hours out of Sydney, the car ends up breaking down on this long stretch of road in the desert. It's funny now, looking back, but James [Chappell, the video's director], Tom and I were stranded for three hours until the sweetest farmer in the whole world drove past, who just so happened to have a jerry can full of fuel that he offered to give to us to fill the car up (and he refused to take any cash!!). That was amazing!"

While they missed the sunset, they managed to shoot Tom at dawn instead. And the results are stunning.
