So good news/bad news (or good news/good news if you've got a healthy sense of irony): there's gonna be an Aaliyah biopic and it'll be on Lifetime.
Based on the biography Aaliyah: More Than A Woman penned by former Time music critic Christopher Farley, the film been's controversial from the get-go. For one, Aaliyah's family has not endorsed the movie and they've been vocal about their disapproval of the project. They've tried to prevent any of the late singer's music from being put in the film, which is probably why Iggy Azalea's "Goddess" is in the trailer.
Disney starlet Zendaya was supposed to star in the movie, but she dropped out and that's why Nickelodeon's Alexandra Shipp is playing the R&B legend. Aaliyah: The Princess Of R&B will air November 15 on Lifetime. Here's hoping it's better than Liz & Dick...
