"This is a celebration of people," Eli Lieb tells Out. "I've lived promoting the idea of the authentic self and not to be afraid of who you are. It's proven to be one of the key elements of my life and career. The song is about that: about being who you are."
The song is produced by the hit-making producer John Feldmann, and the video for "Lightning in a Bottle" features the openly gay singer along with a diverse cast of characters, including Shangela from RuPaul's Drag Race, and professional dancers Jenna Riegel (Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company) and Caitlin Scranton (The Lucinda Dance Company).
The dancers are old childhood friends from Iowa, according to Lieb. And this video is meant as a celebration, so that people will be inspired to be who they are. "It's a feel-good video," Lieb says. "I want people to be their brightest light."
