2015 Oscar Nominations: The Imitation Game, Meryl Streep, Still Alice & More

Not many surprises in this year's Academy Awards nominations. Other than fan-favorite The LEGO Movie being shut out of Best Animated Feature (although it did receive a nomination for Best Original Song for "Everything Is Awesome," the very catchy The LEGO Movie song from The Lonely Island and Tegan and Sara), it was a sea of white male directors -- as well as actors.

Really the only bright light in the nominations is that Selma was nominated for Best Picture (although Ava Duvernay was not nominated for Best Director -- so there was room for Wes Anderson and the other guys could get a place at the table?). Of particular interest to LGBT audiences were the films Still Alice (from gay directors and real-life couple Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland) and The Imitation Game, about gay WWII hero Alan Turing, played by Benedict Cumberbatch. Oh and -- SURPRISE! -- Meryl Streep was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Into the Woods, directed by Rob Marshall and produced by his husband John DeLuca.

The 87th Academy Awards, to be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, will air February 22. Watch the nominations and read the full list below:
