Vice’s segment delves into the lethal homophobia growing rampantly in the country.
Last year, when Uganda passed its anti-homosexuality bill, it was one of the major points of scrutiny and disgust for the global LGBT community. The bill went as far as authorizing the death penalty for being gay, but it was ultimately struck down after international outcry -- though a new version is currently being rendered.
Isobel Yeung traveled to Uganda for Vice to meet the anti-gay leaders that are embedding intolerance and hate into the country's youth. She meets with men who "seriously rape" lesbians they come across to teach them how they're supposed to act and who don't hesitate in the slightest when they exclaim they would kill any gay man they find.
