"Are you sad that 50 pedophiles were killed today?"
A preacher at a Baptist church in Sacramento gave a sermon on Sunday commending the Orlando massacre that took place this weekend.
Pastor Robert Jimenez gave these hateful words at his service on Sunday: "Are you sad that 50 pedophiles were killed today? Um no, I think that's great! I think that helps society. I think Orlando, Florida is a little safer tonight."
Jimenez continued to say: "If we lived in a righteous government, they should round them all up and put them up against a firing wall, and blow their brains out."
The sermon was given just hours after the Orlando attack. Sandrea Nelson, the Pride director of the Davis-Phoenix coalition and an attendee of Baptist church since childhood, told CBS Sacramento that he's never heard a pastor before condone inequality.
"He's not a man of God," said Nelson. "He is not teaching religion. Statements like this can cause more harm to our youth and people in the closet; it causes them to feel worthless."
Jimenez declined to speak with CBS when they visited his home. His sermon can be viewed below:
