Hundreds showed up to a dance party in front of the VP-elect’s house last night.
Last night, one of the hottest parties of the season took place, not in celebration of the forthcoming president, but in defiance. Queer kids in their most colorful looks occupied the street in front of VP-Elect Mike Pence's DC house. They blasted Beyonce and danced the night away, celebrating their queerness in the face of one of its most avid oppressors.
"Mike Pence is going to take the second highest office in our country," Firas Nasr, one of the party's organizers told BBC. "And he has passed horrific anti-LGBT laws. He has also taken staunch stances against the LGBT community, and we are not ok with that."
Hundreds marched and danced to Pence's home, where they were blocked by security staff from entering his lawn. According to BBC, the VP-elect left his home 30 minutes before dancing protesters arrived for the "Party at a Rich Dude's House."
