Sometimes it takes a photo shoot to bring former rivals together. Steven Hildebrand (left), deputy campaign manager for Barack Obama, and Mark Walsh, who was the LGBT national outreach director for Hillary Clinton's campaign, had often talked during last year's bruising primary, but they never actually met until we brought them together in New York for a
Citizen Kane–inspired photo shoot. Hildebrand swooped by during a campaign-related trip to New York, and Walsh took a breather from Boston-based Rafanelli Events, which he runs with his partner, Bryan Rafanelli.
Maybe the next time they meet up they'll be planning a campaign for the first openly gay presidential contender.
