People may see a man in a dress, but for Jacob, it’s about so much more than just the clothes.
For years, True Life has offered audiences a peek into what it's like to live a less-than-normal life. From mental disorders to physical handicaps, the series recognizes the extra effort it takes to live life as anything apart from the majority.
This week, in honor of Transgender Awareness Week, MTV will air "True Life: I'm Genderqueer," documenting what it's like for people who reject traditional gender labels and identify outside the realm of man and woman. The episode is part of the network's "Look Different" campaign, which spotlights the issues of race, gender, and anti-LGBT bias.
Following two genderqueer youth, the True Life episode will act as an anchor for a package of news articles and resources that celebrate the diversity of the transgender community.
True Life: I'm Genderqueer debuts Tuesday, November 17 at 11 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Watch the clip below:
