According to EW, Catwoman kisses another woman in Catwoman #39, out this week, and in a blog post on her personal website, writer Genevieve Valentine wrote that she wanted to establish "Selina (Kyle) as a canon bisexual," stating that it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who follows the character:
"She's flirted around it--often quite literally--for years now; for me, this wasn't a revelation so much as a confirmation," Valentine writes, later adding: "In terms of their sexualities, not particularly; certainly it's no surprise to Selina that she has an attraction to a woman."
As The Advocate notes: "DC continues to move the needle forward for LGBT visibility in comics... With the upcoming Midnighter, the relaunch of Constantine: The Hellblazer, and the now-canceled Batwoman and Voodoo titles, Catwoman is the fifth series from DC to feature an LGBT character in an ongoing comic book since the publisher's company-wide reboot in 2011.
