Ellen Page in Vogue: 'I Feel Freedom In Dressing'
The actress talks coming out and style.
Since her coming out last year, Ellen Page has been busy filming a new movie, Freeheld, in which she plays Julianne Moore's life partner. In the latest issue of Vogue, Page sat down to explain how leaving the closet has changed her approach to style:
"Being out, I've allowed my personal and professional styles to fuse. I used to not get fashion, but I find myself understanding it --enjoying it-- because it now reflects who I am."
Page, who posed in a tuxedo for our Out100 cover shoot, also says she has no issue wearing menswear on the red carpet:
"I used to feel this constant pressure to be more feminine; a quiet or sometimes not-so-quiet demand--'You need to wear a dress or people will think you're gay.'" she explains. "Now I feel a sense of freedom in dressing, and I'm enjoying it so much. I love wearing a Saint Laurent suit to an event."
