We love British-born, Iceland-residing concept artist Kitty Von-Sometime, and her latest episode in the empowering performance art series The Weird Girls Project, titled #EmbraceYourself, is the most glittering. With music by Brooklyn-based CREEP featuring Sia, the video for this art project features women encrusted in thickly layered gold body glitter dancing amid wet, volcanic sand with a backdrop of angled mirrors. As Kitty explains:
"The purpose of this piece is to promote a message to women to #EmbraceYourself; women celebrating themselves as themselves and to truly love who they are," said Kitty. "I chose to coat these women in gold to symbolize their radiance and self worth, letting the mirrors reflect an ability to truly embrace their bodies from every perspective."
As Kitty toldOut last year: "Each woman explains why she needs this experience. And I try to push that into the piece itself."
