Bob Harper turns host after working as a trainer on the show.
Last month, longtime host of NBC's The Biggest Loser, Allison Sweeney, announced her departure. Yesterday, People reported that Bob Harper, who has been a trainer on the show since 2004, will be stepping up to replace her. Harper, who came out in an episode of the show in 2013, has promised some changes.
In a statement, Harper said:
"I'm super excited about taking the position of host on The Biggest Loser. I've been with the show since Season 1, so I know all of the ins and outs, and let me tell you, the weigh-in room is going to be a completely different ballgame with me at the steering wheel."
The 17th season of The Biggest Loser begins filming this month.
