The struggle for atonement is real.
It's that time of year again: Yom Kippur, the day of atonement. A day of fasting, it's a time for Jews to reflect on all the naughty things they've done over the past year, all while struggling through a hunger-induced daze. Broad City's Abbi and Ilana aren't religious, but like many Jewish people today, their identity is important to them, which means at least attempting to make it through the atypically foodless holiday.
It's not an easy observance. Caught in the grips of delirium, Abbi even begins to question the ancient custom:
"It's like, how is me waiting until the sun sets to eat this bacon, egg, and cheese going to cancel out the time I laughed in that hot dude's face about his weird shaped nipples mid-coitus?!"
