For Transgender Day of Visibility, The Danish Girl's Jake Graf, model Laith Ashley and others share their biggest fears and insecurities, as well as advice to their younger selves.

Happy Transgender Day of Visibility, kids! A day to show your support for the trans community, Transgender Day of Visibility brings attention to the accomplishments of trans people around the world, while fighting cissexism and transphobia through the spread of knowledge.

Unlike Transgender Day of Remembrance, this is not a day for mourning, but a day for empowerment and giving recognition where recognition is due. This year's theme is #MoreThanVisibility:

This recognizes that while visibility is important, we must take direct action against transphobia around the world. Visibility is not enough alone to bring transgender liberation. Some people experience violence due to their visibility and some others don't want to be visible. However, we can use visibility as a vital tool for transgender justice.

The following chart explains some of the unique challenges trans people face:

Writer and director Jake Graf, recently seen in The Danish Girl, put together the following video in celebration of Transgender Day of Visibility. It features Graf, model and activist Laith Ashley, bodybuilder and YouTuber Kieran Moloney, DJ/model/activist Munroe Bergdorf, and Captain Hannah Winterbourne, the highest ranking transgender officer in the British Army.

They candidly discuss their biggest fears, their biggest insecurites, and advice they would give to their younger selves. Check it out below:
