Miley Cyrus is quite the philanthropist. In addition to her LGBT youth foundation, Happy Hippie Foundation, the singer is now teaming up with artist Marilyn Minter and designer Marc Jacobs to raise funds for womens' reproductive health organization, Planned Parenthood.
The paintings are selling for $5,500, and the Marc Jacobs tees will set you off $60, but all of the proceeds will go to Planned Parenthood.
Here, a Marilyn Minter paintings featuring Cyrus's lips:
In anArtsy article announcing the collaboration, Minter talked about why she chose to work with Cyrus:
"Because she's an activist, Minter said. "And because we were trying to bridge the generation gap by involving a young star with young fans-- she has 40.5 million Instagram followers. She's been famous since she was 11, and she's a great artist, so she doesn't care about making money-- she wants to give back. She founded the Happy Hippie Foundation, which supports LGBTQ youth. She flies commercial because she's conscious of her carbon footprint. Now she's going to help us with Planned Parenthood."
Only 50 prints of the Cyrus painting will be made. The Marc Jacobs shirts, featuring a more risque image of Cyrus, will be sold at Marc Jacobs stores.
