The drag icon also addressed his lack of respect from mainstream media.

Gearing up for the season finale of RuPaul's Drag Race, Mama Ru stopped by ABC Newsto talk about his illustrious career. The drag icon met with Dan Harris to school him on the basics of drag lingo and culture. He even tried to convince Harris to step into some heels.

"There are aspects of your personality that you don't even know about until you get into drag," RuPaul told the straight news anchor. "I've seen straight men get into drag and it's interesting to see what they turn into. And I'm looking at you; you're gorgeous. You got a sexy little body there, good teeth, and good hair."

Although having RuPaul knight you into the drag world is an honor bestowed upon only a lucky few, it doesn't seem Harris will invest in lace-front wigs anytime soon. He blushed and laughed off the mini tutorial.

However, he expressed the utmost respect for RuPaul and the empire he's built. It was a bittersweet moment as the Drag Race host felt he's never been taken seriously by mainstream media. He explained to Harris:

"I haven't been accepted in mainstream media outlets like The Tonight Show or Ellen or the late night shows because the only way they can actually have a conversation with me is to make fun of me or make a joke about what I'm doing."

Although a lack of acceptance is nothing new for gay men or drag queens, RuPaul took the chance to show ABC News and the world how beautiful the world of drag truly is.
