Sam Smith Opens Up About Breakup: "It’s Still Quite Raw."

In an interview with The Sunday Times' Style Magazine, Sam Smith opened up about his breakup with 13 Reasons Why actor Brandon Flynn.

The couple had been dating for 9 months before breaking up in June of this year. Smith promptly deleted the myriad of Instagram photos with his ex.

"Brandon was wonderful," the four-time Grammy Award winner said. "I'm still trying to figure out what I took from that relationship and what it meant to me. It's still quite raw.

While he wants to keep the details of his relationship private, Smith is also torn trying to be an out and visible gay man.

"Seeing gay relationships [in a public way] is important and refreshing. You don't see it loads."

He did make clear though, that he and Flynn didn't end on bad terms.

"All my relationships have ended in a nice way, never nasty."

Now the sultry singer is focusing on his career instead of trying to find a new man. (He's currently on tour for his second album, The Thrill of it All.)

He's not on any apps, saying he prefers to meet people "out and about" or "under the disco balls."
