Stylish jewlry made from 3D prints
The future of fashion is here. Making the best use of the new 3D print technology, Jean-Baptiste Fontes, a NYU alumn, launched his own line of accessories under the brand name Jean-Louis Casquette. What began as a joke between friends is now turning into a mini-phenomenon: His line of rings shaped as a baseball cap ("casquette" in French, pronounced "caskate") has been picked up by stores in SoHo and Brooklyn, and received a French Tech Award for Best Fashion Startup last December. The ring is available in an array of colorful nylon plastics ($25), as well as more noble materials, such as polished silver or gold-plated brass ($230 each). If the cap fits, get yours quick!
