WATCH: Taye Diggs' Adorable Rap About Being a Dad
The next Hedwig on Broadway gets down with his dad self.
Rent star Taye Diggs has partnered with Dockers (yes, the preppy dad-ish clothing brand) to bring us an hilarious rap video about making it as a dad on top of his game.
In lieu of belting out "Seasons of Love," Diggs grooves about wiping baby's butts, flute recitals, and graduations.
For context, Diggs is balancing fatherhood for 5-year-old Walker (with his ex, Idina Menzel) and preparing to join the cast of Hedwig on Broadway, but does not let his hectic schedule keep him from looking sharp.
"I love style, I love dressing, but when you're a pops you gotta get dressed quick, and you have to be comfortable, and you gotta be ready to have stuff spilled on," Diggs says.
He certainly understands that being fashionable can absolutely still mean being functional. So how does Diggs stay dapper, even covered in baby formula? "Khakis are a good go-to,", he says. "Or cargo pants, because they have a lot of pockets. Pacifiers and bottles, and diapers, and wet wipes, and crackers, and little toy dinosaurs, and candy for treats for any child that has behaved or when you're trying to bribe them."
Cute! The video, titled #DadJam, is sure to be the next great Father's Day anthem. Watch it here:
