The much-anticipated revival of X-Files couldn't come any sooner. Old faves Mulder and Scully (David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson) are back, and series creator Chris Carter to write and direct the return episode, so we hope we aren't disappointed.

The new trailer features our favorite characters in a world where nothing goes unnoticed as well as Walter Skinner and "The Smoking Man." "They police us and spy on us, tell us that makes us safer. We've never been in more danger," Mulder explains, now that we are living in a post-Edward Snowden world of intrigue where the NSA may be creepier than space aliens or genetic monsters.
According to RollingStone.com: "X-Files vets Agent Monica Reyes (played by Annabeth Gish) and the conspiracy theory-happy hacker crew the Lone Gunmen will also return for the revival as well as new cast members Joel McHale, Kumail Nanjiani (who also hosts the The X-Files Files podcast), and Lauren Ambrose.
X-Files returns January 24, 2016 to Fox with a six-part miniseries. Check out the trailer below:
