Sasha Velour Snatched Her Wig and All of Ours in the Process

Spoiler alert for the Drag Race finale!

Last night, RuPaul's Drag Racecrowned its queen. if you haven't watched yet, stop reading now! Spoilers follow...

Brooklyn art queen Sasha Velour took home the crown and $100,000 on last night's finale thanks to a duo of sickening lip syncs in a newly formatted finale to the ninth season of the reality drag competition. Rather than Ru picking her favorite queen with help from text-in votes, the final four split into duos for lip sync battles, with the two remaining queens going head-to-head for the ultimate prize.

First, Trinity Taylor dueled Peppermint to Britney Spear's "Stronger," and I have to be honest, I'm still fuming over Peppermint's win. Peppermint is talented, of course, but Trinity is a force to be reckoned with. And Peppermint's outfit reveal? Wow, she turned an ugly look into an even uglier look, fierce! But Trinity walked away with her head help high. I, for one, can't wait to see her win All Stars 3.

The night's true highlight was Sasha Velour and Shea Coulee--who this week released a trio of music videos exclusively on OUT--duked it out to Whitney Houston's "So Emotional." Velour began the number plucking petals from a rose and ended it by snatching her own wig and scattering rose petals all over the stage--just life a Brooklyn queen, leaving a mess for someone else to clean up! Honestly, we're still snatched bald from this performance.

Listen, Sasha won that lip sync, 100 percent. But if the finale hadn't been a lip sync battle, the outcome could have been very different.
