This weekend the GLAAD Media Awards took place in New York City, where the LGBTQ+ organization partnered with Ketel One to celebrate queer representation and excellence in media. Samira Wiley was presented with the Vito Russo Award by her Handmaid's Tale co-star Alexis Bledel, Ava DuVernay was honored with the Excellence in Media Award for her work diversifying film, Gloria Carter (Jay-Z's mother) received a special recognition for the music video "Smile," and Call Me By Your Name screenwriter James ivory accepted the honor for Outstanding Film.
But the true highlight of the night -- sorry, Ross Matthews -- was a performance by Melissa Etheridge and Adam Lambert, who teamed up to cover "I'm the Only One," celebrating 25 years of Etheridge's iconic album Yes I Am.
