22 portraits that prove drag is high art and punk rock

DRAG portraits
Original Photography by Jason KimThe photography project DRAG is a vibrant visual exploration of the diverse makeup styles within drag culture — from high glamour to punk and everything in between. Shot with an editorial beauty lens, the series pulls in close to capture the intricate artistry and technique behind each look.
The project features a star-studded cast including Luxx Noir London and Robin Fierce from RuPaul’s Drag Race, Jay Kay and La Zavaleta from Dragula, along with a wide range of NYC’s top drag talent.
In this project, photographer Jason Kim and creative director Missleidy Rodriguez have come together to spotlight drag performers in a way that feels elevated, intimate, and powerful — positioning drag not just as performance, but as high fashion and art.
See photographs from DRAG ahead — as well as a short film to accompany the project.
