The Melbourne artist brings a minimalist approach to customizing magazine covers
Influenced by the skate scene and heavy metal, Melbourne artist Stephen Baker brings a minimalist's approach to his art, taking urban landscapes, or something as familiar as a magazine cover, and abstracting them into striking geometric patterns. His subtle color palette--think pale pastels--helps to soften the bold lines, while creating an impression of stained-glass windows. Baker's latest project involves painting directly onto magazine covers, where his matte paint contrasts pleasingly with the glossy stock. We invited him to add Out's October 2015 cover of Julianne Moore and Ellen Page to his portfolio.
