A new feature on Audible lets listeners skip straight to sex scenes.
Audiobook streaming service Audible has a new "Romance Package" service, which offers thousands of romance titles to customers and, perhaps most importantly, allows listeners to skip ahead straight to the sex scenes if they so choose.
The feature is called "Take Me To The Good Part," and it's available for 110 titles. What's more, just like a porn site, Audible has tagged each title to label different categories. Quartzexplains:
"To help listeners find exactly the storyline they want, Audible has gone granular with its tagging system, including 41 categories, like 'animals/beasts,' 'immortals,' and 'time travel'; 63 character tropes, such as 'hockey player,' 'Navy SEAL,' and 'viscount'; and 67 cherished set-ups that include 'age gap,' 'secret babies,' 'brought together by a bet,' and 'fake relationship.'"
Based on those tags alone, it's clear Audible isn't messing around. There's also a "steaminess score" ranging from "sweet" to "O-O-OMG." So, yeah, basically what we're saying everyone on the subway is probably listening to pornographic literature now instead of NPR.
Happy reading, ladies.
