'Boy, Interrupted' Uses Body Paint to Document Troubled Queer Relationships
Different art mediums lend themselves to certain stories better than others. That's why when Aaron Williams and Cacho Falcon collaborated to tell the story of Williams' life, they chose body painting. Brushed across the bodily planes of three different models--one each for William's past, present and future--are the stories of the photographer's troubled relationships with his father (self-imprisoned in a cage) and ex-boyfriend. "It's about personal growth, the intersection of what I'm going through, and where I'm trying to go," Williams said. "It's about letting go of the past, letting go of the tension, and moving forward and creating a fully realized self."
