New year, new Tom of Finland art in my home. Though we can't all be Gus Kenworthy, who owns an original Tom of Finland sketch that is a part of the queer art collection in his redesigned West Hollywood home, we can have a bit of the iconic artist for a relatively inexpensive price. The Tom of Finland Store has recently released a collection of magnets, all featuring the creative's work, for six bucks a pop.
We should say here that the art really runs the gamut. While we can only show some of the tamer works here, there's other pieces that depict everything from fisting, rimming, and restraints, to public group cruising. It's all par for the course for true Tom of Finland fans who have come to expect the bawdy content. The art chosen ranges from as far back as 1947 and up through 1988. This means we see day laborers, policeman, leathermen, and even a woman -- his work featuring Black men is also included. It's quite a wide swath of the artist's oeuvre with 56 magnets.
If you forgot to buy the leatherman in your life something for the holidays, maybe this small token will transport you to leather markets passed from community events like Mid Atlantic Leather and International Mr Leather.
See and purchase all of the magnets from Tom of Finland Store.
The more explicit magnets (as well as these) are all available for $6 per magnet.
