This Artist Turns Your Fave Pop Stars Into Fabulous Pokémon Trainers

Digital artist @rissox.taha's latest series is the crossover event of the year!

Over on Instagram, the artist is showing off his imaginings of some of our favorite pop stars as Pokémon trainers, complete with their partners in crime and sometimes even a whole team! Beyoncé stuns as a bug-type trainer with Vespiquen as her main, while Taylor Swift is the queen of the snakes and leads with Arbok. SZA loves the big boys so obviously Machoke is her partner, while Mariah Carey delicately lets a Vivillon rest on her finger.

Every image is nothing short of iconic – and it's clear why the artist has over 125,000 followers.

"I was and I still am a big pokemon fan since my elementary school years," Taha told Out. "I fell in love with the franchise, the design of the pokemon but also how diverse and unique the pokémon trainers are."

RuPaul's Drag Race actually inspired his trainer series, he shares. "I got the same feeling watching RPDR, so I decided to combine them both and people loved the idea."

From there, fans began requesting pop stars. "I'm not claiming that drawing people as pokemon trainers is my original idea, a lot of artists did it beautifully before me," he says. "Most of my followers suggested doing celebrities and pop artists editions and this is how it all started.
