Carol Channing is an American actress, comedian, and icon for gay men everywhere. Remembered for groundbreaking roles like gold-digging Lorelei Lee in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and matchmaking Dolly Levi in Hello, Dolly!, Carol has won three Tony awards and an Oscar nomination for the 1967 film Thoroughly Modern Millie. With an outrageous personality and one-of-a-kind voice, the camp diva has remained a longtime supporter of LGBT rights. Channing turned 90 in 2010 and visited infamously gay Fire Island in 2013 to perform at the Ice Palace disco where over 500 admirers cheered for the queen.
