Zendaya Introduces Trans Euphoria Fan to Hunter Schafer

A transgender Euphoria fan recently received a heartwarming surpise from Zendaya and Hunter Schafer.

On Friday, a video surfaced of Zendaya meeting an avid fan of the HBO show. According to a tweet, the fan cites Schafer, Zendaya's co-star, as an inspiration.

"So Zendaya facetimed Hunter because the girl is trans and said Hunter was an inspiration to her through Euphoria and Zendaya wanted to connect the 2 of them so she could tell Hunter herself," the tweet said.

In the video the fan can be heard saying she has "to be dreaming" and that "someone has to wake me up this can't be real."

"I'm happy to meet you," Schafer responded. Zendaya later takes a photo of the fan, posing with Schafer on the phone.

Euphoria fans replied on Twitter praising Zendaya.

"Omg @Zendaya is a literal saint!!! Making her fans feel genuinely happy," one user tweeted.

"Someone said they are a family friend of Zendaya and that she is actually kinda rude," another user added. "I never believed them for a second and this is further proof I was correct."

Zendaya received the award for Drama TV Star of the Year for her work on Euphoria at last week's E! People's Choice Awards. During the ceremony the star wore an emerald green corset dress by Vera Wang, channeling the style of Euphoria's Maddy (played by Alexa Demie).

While receiving the award Zendaya thanked Euphoria fans for having an "open heart."

"Wow, thank you so much!" she said. "This is incredible. Thank you so much. Euphoria and Rue [are] I think one of the most beautiful things to ever happen to me and I just want to say thank you obviously to HBO and A24...for giving me the chance to be a part of something so beautiful."
