Miley Cyrus Addresses Cheating Rumors in Liam Hemsworth Split

Today Miley Cyrus responded on Twitter to rumors she cheated on Liam Hemsworth. The speculation arose amid the fallout from their separation and impending divorce.

"I can accept that the life I've chosen means I must live completely open and transparent with my fans who I love and the public, 100% of the time," she wrote. "What I cannot accept is being told I'm lying to cover up a crime I haven't committed. I have nothing to hide."

In a 10-tweet thread, Cyrus admits to experimenting with drugs, while also using and advocating for the legalization of marijuana. "My biggest song to date is about dancing on molly and snorting lines in the bathroom," she wrote. She also went onto detail the circumstances that caused her to lose out on a Walmart deal, in addition to being kicked off the animated franchise Hotel Transylvania.

"But the truth is, once Liam & I reconciled, I meant it, & I was committed," she wrote. "There are NO secrets to uncover here."

After photos of her kissing another woman -- Kaitlynn Carter, Brody Jenner's ex -- surfaced the same day as the separation news broke, many began to speculate that the two had separated because Cyrus had cheated.

"I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating," she continued. "Liam and I have been together for a decade. I've said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will. BUT at this point I had to make a healthy decision for myself to leave a previous life behind."

Pop singer Halsey came to her defense online earlier this week. When a Twitter user employed a harmful trope against bisexual people to take a dig at Cyrus' breakup, Halsey called it out.

"Miley Cyrus splitting and allegedly cheating on Liam with a woman confirms that you shouldn't date bi people," the person wrote. "Not offensive, just true. Bi is greedy and never satisfied."

"Hey Tigerbob," Halsey responded, quote-tweeting the post. "Doesn't surprise me that you're saying this and your page has you crying about Brie Larson too! Stop being afraid of women who aren't afraid to do what pleases them and not other people."

And also, Tigerbob, some people cheat. Some people are faithful. Sexuality has little to do with it.
