RuPaul Covers 'Cosmopolitan' Magazine, Releases Christmas EP

RuPaul on a red carpet with an Emmy.

Walk into 2021, Cosmo first?

MikelleStreet

RuPaul ended last year, and started 2020 with a pretty stunning cover of Vanity Fair. The moment was set to kick off quite a high point for the longtime star with Netflix's Aj and the Queen, and multiple seasons (and iterations) of RuPaul's Drag Race on the way. What followed was arguably Ru's most visible year to date with a Saturday Night Live hosting gig, the aforementioned shows, various tv game shows, and even other magazine covers. Stepping into 2021, it looks like the reign is not about to let up.

Ru is now on the cover of Cosmopolitan UK! For the shoot, she works with some of her frequent collaborators like Zaldy who did the looks, Raven, who did the makeup, and Curtis William Foreman, who did the wigs. Albert Sanchez and Pedro Zalba shot the images.

If things look a little familiar, you've got a good eye: We've spotted at least two of the looks from the shoot in old episodes from Drag Race season 12 -- the wigs too! But we've long known Ru to be an efficient queen when it comes to her in-drag appearances.

For the interview, which hasn't released yet, Ru chats with Jade Thirwall from Little Mix. Funny enough, Thirwall was on the first season of RuPaul's Drag Race U.K. so it's likely all related.. The pair discuss "body confidence and being yourself."

Ths comes only weeks after Ru's return to social. She's been posting random things, but prior to the Cosmo cover she posted her new five-track Hey Sis, It's Christmas EP. Before Halloween, how timely!
