Sarah Paulson's Response to the Adele Lookalike Meme Is Perfect

Sarah Paulson and Adele look alike

Ok, but they do resemble one another!

On her 32nd birthday, Adele posted a photo to social media thanking her fans for the birthday love she was receiving and to thank the frontline workers for all of the work they are doing in the ongoing pandemic. Her photos instantly went viral as Adele, who had been largely off of social media over the past year, came back looking completely different. And while many were supporting the singer, as she had previously said she wanted to start working out, others started pointing out a visual similarity between her and another star.

"I'm not saying Adele and Sarah Paulson are the same person but," one Twitter user posted.

"I'M NOT SAYING ADELE IS SARAH PAULSON I'M SAYING ADELE IS SARAH PAULSON," another wrote.

You ... you get the idea.

The tweets went viral, each including a side by side of the pair. The comparisons went so viral at one point that they began to trend on Twitter, bringing them to the attention of one Sarah Paulson, herself!

"I was on Twitter and I just happened to be scrolling through and it said Sarah Paulson is trending," she told SiriusXM's EW Live in a recent interview. "I was like, 'Wait, what?! Did I die? What happened?'" Paulson was no doubt referring to the handful of times that celebrities have been mistakenly reported as dead on the social media platform, causing them to trend.

"Then I was like 'Oh, it's the Adele thing again,'" she continued. "This has been going on for a while, this Adele looks like Sarah Paulson, Sarah Paulson looks like Adele. Listen, I'll take it. What I wish they were comparing was my talent to her talent and saying my talent was as great as hers. Which ... quite honestly they can't say because no one's talent is as great as hers which is really irritating but I'll take looking like her. She's a beauty."

And while Paulson's own talents are certainly nothing to gloss over, some points were made!
