Like many other things in their life, the decision comes down to balance.

Ali Krieger and Ashlyn Harris are a power couple if we ever knew one. They stand as what is possibly the highest-profile marriage between two professional sports stars. In December, the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team mates said their vows to one another in a much-anticipated ceremony dubbed the "Royal Wedding" by some. And now they are fronting the latest issue of Allure magazine.

The couple discuss many things in the feature, first and foremost of which is the fight for equality in pay. Within the USWNT they are have sued for equal pay as their male counterparts. That suit suffered a set back this year but it presses ong. And while it continues, and the players figure out what's next for their sport given this unprecedented moment, Krieger and Harris also chat about the personal.

"The team comes first," Harris said in the feature. "We actually don't [often] stay in the same room [on the road]. If we are in the same room, we're in separate beds because sleep is a huge part of our recovery. I think that's the hardest part. We don't get really good time together. We have to make time even though we see each other all the time. It's tricky."

With the team coming first -- and the couple being on the same team -- the conversation of children is an interesting one. A decade into their relationship, they are moms to two dogs but think about having actual children often.

"We talk about having kids a lot. The unfortunate part is someone's going to have to give in their career," Harris said. "Which is not fair. Because we both love our jobs and have waited our whole lives for these moments. Just taking a year off...where does that fit in? I can't even take a weekend off. We've talked about surrogates, we've talked about adoption, and it's just really tough because what -- are we going to take the child everywhere? I mean, we've been home for seven days in the last three months."

"We have a lot of moms [on the team]," Krieger said. "When we're traveling, we carry the stroller and the [diaper] bag and then she's carrying the baby, or we're carrying the baby and she's getting all the stuff."

"It takes an army," Harris said.
