If he were on the RuPaul's Drag RaceMain Stage, Michelle Visage might tell him to "stop relying on that body." But thankfully he's not!
Over the weekend, actor Wilson Cruz to share a very important message alongside a very important photo. Given how fast things go on the bird app, Cruz gave followers a reason to stop and actually figure out what he was hoping to convey.
"... Now that I have your attention," he wrote in the post. The attention grabber was Cruz shirtless, showing off his sculpted torso. The actor has certainly shown off his body before (and we have chronicled it) but it truly never gets old!
“...NOW that I have your attention...if you’re inside, trying to beat the heat, NOW is a good time to FINALLY go to https://t.co/sUhu6GQEjO and/or https://t.co/ikeuP307do and make sure you’re registered at the correct address and counted in the census! LET’S GO! #vote #census2020”— Wilson Cruz (@Wilson Cruz) 1597596445
"If you're inside, trying to beat the heat, now is a good time to finally go to vote.org and/or census.gov and make sure you're registered at the correct address and counted in the census!" he continued in the post. "LET'S GO!"
This is how you, as The Player's Club taught us, "use what you got to get what you want."
The context of Cruz's post is a presidential administration that is actively working against a census counting that is an accurate portrayal of those who live in the United States, by enacting rules and policies that threaten to cause an undercount of communities of color -- this is important as this count will help determine not only representation in Congress but how much federal aid a community receives. It also comes at a time where the administration seems to be actively working to undermine the presidential election by making it more difficult for citizens to cast their ballots, many of which will need to be done by mail.
Cruz's message, hopefully, can pose as a small but important reminder to spur followers into action. A thirst trap indeed.
