Looks like megaproducer Ryan Murphy has all of the irons on the stove fired up. While he's headed into an incredibly busy roll-out schedule with his upcoming Netflix projects, he has also announced the birth of his third child with husband David Miller.
"Griffin Sullivan Miller Murphy," Murphy wrote to Instagram. "August 18, 6 pounds 13 ounces." The baby was pictured in a photo with his siblings Ford Theodore and Logan Phineas. Murphy had previously announced the impending birth in a profile he wrote about himself that appeared in Architectural Digest in June.
"We are expecting another baby, a boy, in August," he wrote. And it seems that birth came and went with nary a peep until now. Well, it's not as if we've heard nothing from the Murphy camp: he has been hard at work on a slate of Netflix projects including Ratched, the new Sarah Paulson-led series out this month, a film adaptation for The Boys in the Band, which also releases this month, and a film adaptation of The Prom. That latter project got a first look yesterday. But this is the first update about the child.
Murphy and Miller join other gay dads who have expanded their families this year including Jessie Tyler Ferguson and his husband Justin Mikita, Joe Zee and his husband, as well as Anderson Cooper who is co-parenting his son with his ex.
Congratulations to the happy family.
