Ruby Rose Slid Into Demi Burnett's DMs After She Came Out

Demi Burnett and Ruby Rose

The Bachelor in Paris star revealed their sexuality to the world in 2019.

Ruby Rose wasted no time in sliding into Demi Burnett's DMs after the reality star came out as bisexual on Bachelor in Paradise in 2019.

Burnett was a guest on the We're Having Gay Sex podcast with comedian Ashley Gavin recently when she spilled the tea about Rose sliding into her DMs. "She DM'ed me one time and I almost died," she said. "It was really funny, because she said, 'hey,' and I was like, 'oh my gosh, she's sliding in.' I was like 'this is it!'"

"I was like, 'hi, what's up,' or something, and she said, 'sup,'" Burnett recalled. She was ready to risk it all for the former Orange is the New Black and Batwoman star, joking that Rose was the "catalyst of every girl that goes gay" and saying she was "freaking out." But, sadly, Rose was only being friendly.

"She's like, 'I was just messaging you because Demi Lovato told me to," Burnett said. (I'd love to be a fly on the wall for any conversations between Lovato and Rose.) "Demi was probably like, 'you should DM her, she's going to love it,'" Burnett continued, "I was like 'oh my gosh, I thought she was hitting on me.'" Lovato and Rose are friends who have known each other since at least 2011.

Burnett made headlines back in 2019 when she was seen kissing a female love interest in a trailer for the sixth season of Bachelor in Paradise. "I don't care who sees this. I know that I love this girl," she said in the trailer, "I'm just so happy that I found her, and I can definitely picture being with her for the rest of my life."

She ended up proposing to the woman, Kristian Hagerty, on the season finale of Bachelor in Paradise, but the couple announced their breakup a couple months later with Burnett saying on Instagram, "with a heavy heart full of love for one another we have decided it is best for us to take a step back from our relationship."
