A short Out investigation.
Though young, JoJo Siwa has been a "gay icon" for a few years. Her penchant for rainbows, bubbly personality, perfect teeth, and knack for going viral has essentially made her family -- we are absolutely joking, noting makes you LGBTQ+ besides actually being LGBTQ+ but attributes like the aforementioned certainly can grab you a legion of queer and trans fans. Siwa knows this in fact and in 2018 when she was asked what she felt about being a gay icon she replied simply: "I love it." But now, after a recent post from the content creator, some believe that she's come out as an actual member of the community.
In a new video posted to her TikTok, Siwa lip syncs to Lady Gaga's "Born This Way. While some might believe that she's just jazzed about Gaga's recent inauguration performance, others think the Nickelodeon star is trying to say more. As we all know, "Born This Way" is a bit of an LGBTQ+ anthem and the section in Siwa's video is the "no matter gay, straight, or bi, lesbian, transgender," part. Couple that with the fact that Siwa is seemingly bathed in rainbows and it's a done deal, right? Maybe, but also she wears rainbow colors almost 24/7.
“Jojo Siwa comes out GAY cuz she listen to Lady Gaga's song Born This Way ?”— My Biggest Enemy is Me 🚨 (@My Biggest Enemy is Me 🚨) 1611199101
“I log out of TikTok for a couple hours and jojo siwa comes out of the closet COME ON”— zoe (@zoe) 1611203720
“Reminder that you don't need to be gay to like rainbows, support LGBTQ+ rights, or tell people to be who they are.

Unless Jojo Siwa comes out herself, who you are/what you like is entirely your business/isn't defined by clothing. If she is coming out, she will say it herself <3”— Tay 🐞🌈 EnVTuber 🌸 (@Tay 🐞🌈 EnVTuber 🌸) 1611206588
It is important to note that the comment section was awash with other LGBTQ+ TikTok users congratulating the star, like James Charles. This could mean maybe they had a heads up and are more clued in on the situation. Or, they could also all be just piecing together things and just as uninformed as we are. Who knows.
Siwa has yet to explain more -- though she absolutely does not need to. The video went up only three hours ago at the time of publishing and had 3.7 million views. Siwa boasts over 31 million followers on TikTok. But there's more.
In another clip, filmed at a TikTok house dedicated to LGBTQ+ creators, Siwa dances with LGBTQ+ TikTok creators to the song "Ain't It Fun" by Paramore -- the clip in particular says "now you're one of us." The video features Mollee Gray, Garrett Clayton, and more.
