Anderson Cooper Celebrates Son Wyatt's First Birthday in Sweet Post

Happy belated birthday Wyatt Cooper!

Anderson Cooper celebrated the first birthday of his son Wyatt yesterday on Instagram. "Today is Wyatt's first birthday," he wrote, "I can't believe it has already been a year. He is sweet and funny, happy and kind, and I love him more than I ever thought possible." He shared the post along with a picture of Wyatt holding a balloon and smiling, and another of the one-year-old lounging in a chair in some footie pajamas.

Cooper announced the birth of his son last year. "This is Wyatt Cooper," he posted on Instagram. "He is three days old. He is named after my father, who died when I was ten. I hope I can be as good a dad as he was. My son's middle name is Morgan. It's a family name on my mom's side. I know my mom and dad liked the name morgan because I recently found a list they made 52 years ago when they were trying to think of names for me. Wyatt Morgan Cooper. My son. He was 7.2 lbs at birth, and he is sweet, and soft, and healthy and I am beyond happy." Shortly after, he revealed that he is co-parenting Wyatt with his ex-partner Benjamin Maisani.

Last summer, Cooper and Wyatt appeared on the first-ever Pride issue of People Magazine. "I feel invested in the future in a way I hadn't really before," Cooper told People at the time. "There's something about having a child that makes you feel connected to what is happening and you want to make sure that the world this child is growing up in is a better one. You suddenly worry much more about the future of all of us."

Since then, Cooper has been showing off his son whenever he can, posting adorable photos of the toddler on his social media and expressing his love for him publicly. "My son will be five months old in less than two weeks," he wrote in one post. "He is such a happy baby even though he has started teething. He loves being read to and so far Dr. Seuss is his favorite, particularly One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. Ok, that's my favorite, but he does seem to like it a lot.

Wyatt was lucky enough to get to watch his father on TV recently, when Cooper served as a guest host on Jeopardy! "Wyatt has never seen me on tv before, and he likely won't for a long while, but apparently he caught a bit of me on @Jeopardy!," Cooper posted.

Cooper wasn't alone in celebrating Wyatt's birthday. Andy Cohen, Cooper's best friend who also has a young child, two-year-old Ben, posted his own picture of him holding Wyatt with the two of them wearing matching red plaid shirts. "Happy 1st Birthday Wyatt Cooper," he wrote, "I love twinning with you. XO Uncle Andy & Mr. Ben."
