The couple has been married since 2012 and the child will be their first.
After being the stars of the Netflix reality series Styling Hollywood, which dropped back in 2019, husbands Jason Bolden and Adair Curtis have announced that they are now expecting. On the show, the possibility of expanding their family was a major plotline. Now, they expect to do so via surrogate.
"The journey to starting our family has been a long one," Curtis told People magazine, who announced the news. "Even before it was documented on Styling Hollywood, starting a family was always at the forefront of our minds and in our plans. We explored adoption with multiple agencies before feeling like surrogacy was the right way to go for us."
"It still feels like we're dreaming," he said, "but the day we get to meet our baby is on the horizon -- and we're thrilled!"
Jason Bolden is known most for his fashion styling. He works with talents like Janet Mock, Ava Duvernay, Yara Shahidi, Amanda Gorman, Taraji P. Henson, and many more. After marrying in 2012, the two founded JSN Studio which provides not only fashion styling but interior design services as well for celebrity clients. The pair also serve as godfathers to Zaya Wade -- Gabrielle Union-Wade and Dwyane Wade have also been clients of the studio.
In tandem with the announcement, Curtis and Bolden have partnered with bubly sparkling water and the nonprofit Family Equality for a campaign to raise awareness on the challenges LGBTQ+ parents face. Bubly is donating $100,000 to Family Equality as a part of the effort.
A second season for Styling Hollywood has not been announced.
