Welcome to the team, Kaylee! As Pride Month officially kicks off, people around the world are using it as a boost of confidence to come out. It's a time-honored tradition that queer people have been doing since the beginning of Pride. And now, Kaylee Bryant is a part of that tradition!
The 23-year-old actress posted on her Instagram yesterday, saying, "Hi, my name is Kaylee and I'm queer! Happy Pride Month!" alongside a picture of her. In the pic, she's wearing a t-shirt that says, "Be the bold queer you needed to see in your youth," holding a rainbow flag, and sticking out her tongue. The shirt is designed by queer artist Crash King and is available for purchase online.
Bryant's first acting role was actually as a "zombie slut" in the first season of American Horror Story's "Halloween: Part 1" episode. Since then, she's also appeared in shows like Chasing Life, The Real O'Neals, and Santa Clarita Diet.
On Legacies, she plays Josie Saltzman, a teen twin "siphoner," a type of witch born with the power to siphon magic from other sources and use it for themselves. Saltzman is the first pansexual character to appear on the show, or in the Vampire Diaries universe. She's been shown to be in relationships with people of several genders.
Legacies will return for its fourth season on The CW this fall and will air on Thursday nights at 9pm.
And Bryant isn't the only young person to come out recently. Former Dance Moms star Zackery Torres also recently announced that she is transitioning and uses they/she pronouns. They had previously come out as nonbinary while attending USC.
Congratulations to Kaylee and everyone else who gets the strength they need to come out during Pride Month!
